The First King
Mulavarman was a 4th–5th century king of the Kutai Kingdom in East Kalimantan. He is the first historically known king in Indonesian history, whose generosity to Brahmins is recorded in the Yupa inscriptions, making him the earliest named figure in the recorded history of the archipelago.
