Brahma is the Hindu god of creation, one of the Trimurti—the three principal deities of Hinduism, alongside Vishnu (the Preserver) and Shiva (the Destroyer). Brahma is the cosmic architect, the force that brings the universe into existence.

Brahma was venerated in ancient Java, as evidenced by the 9th-century Prambanan temple complex, which includes a temple dedicated to Brahma. In Balinese Hinduism, Brahma remains a central deity, associated with the creative forces of the universe.
