The Banjar War (1859–1864) was a brutal five-year conflict between the Banjar Sultanate and Dutch colonial forces. Sparked by Dutch interference in the succession to the Banjar throne, the war devastated South Kalimantan and marked the final fall of the Banjar Sultanate, securing Dutch control over the Barito Basin.
