The Dayak folktales are the oral storytelling traditions of the Dayak people of Borneo — tales of forest spirits, ancestral heroes, and the creation of the world, carrying the spiritual and ecological wisdom of the island’s indigenous people.
The Dayak believe that the forest is alive with spirits — the jata (forest spirits), the tumenggung (mountain spirits), and the datu (river spirits). These spirits are the guardians of the three-realms and the the-forth-realm, and they protect the people who live in harmony with the land. The folktales are a guide to living in harmony with these spirits.
The Dayak folktales are also a guide to understanding the mana-curse. The stories teach that the spiritual balance of the world is maintained by the flow of mana, and that the disruption of this flow can lead to sickness, drought, and disaster.

达雅克民间故事是婆罗洲达雅克人的口述说书传统——关于森林精灵、祖先英雄和创世的故事，承载着该岛原住民的灵性和生态智慧。

Masyarakat Dayak percaya bahwa hutan hidup dengan roh — jata (roh hutan), tumenggung (roh gunung), dan datu (roh sungai).
