The Java Sea is a shallow sea on the Sunda Shelf, covering 320,000 km². It lies between the Indonesian islands of Java, Kalimantan, and sumatra.

In 1942, the Battle of the Java Sea was fought here, marking a decisive Japanese victory over Allied forces.

爪哇海 是巽他大陆架上的浅海，面积约32万平方公里，位于爪哇岛、加里曼丹岛和苏门答腊岛之间。

1942年2月27日，由荷兰、美国、英国和澳大利亚组成的联合舰队在此遭日本海军重创，2,000余名盟军水兵阵亡。
