The Indische Partij is a pioneering Indonesian nationalist political party — founded in 1912 by Indo-European and Indigenous nationalists, it was the first political party in the Dutch East Indies to advocate for Indonesian independence.
The party was founded by Ernest Douwes Dekker (the grandson of the famous writer Multatuli), and it was the first political party in the Dutch East Indies to demand independence for the colony. The party advocated for the unity of all ethnic groups in the colony and challenged the Dutch colonial system. The party played a key role in the early nationalist movement and influenced later nationalist leaders, including Sukarno.
The Indische Partij is a testament to the pattern of power that has shaped the archipelago, and a precursor to the National Revolution.

Indische Partij adalah partai politik nasionalis Indonesia perintis — didirikan pada tahun 1912 oleh nasionalis Indo-Eropa dan Pribumi, partai politik pertama di Hindia Belanda yang mengadvokasi kemerdekaan Indonesia.
Partai ini didirikan oleh Ernest Douwes Dekker (cucu dari penulis terkenal Multatuli), dan merupakan partai politik pertama di Hindia Belanda yang menuntut kemerdekaan koloni. Partai ini mengadvokasi persatuan semua kelompok etnis di koloni dan menantang sistem kolonial Belanda.
