The Inter-Indonesia Conference was a crucial meeting held in Yogyakarta in July 1949. It brought together Indonesian nationalists from all factions — including those from Dutch-created federal states — to agree on a unified Indonesian state.
The Background
After the van-mook-plan , the Dutch had created a series of federal states in areas they controlled. The Republic of Indonesia was just one state among many. But the people of the federal states were beginning to turn against the Dutch model — they wanted unity with the Republic.
