Mohammad Hatta (1902–1980) was the first Vice President of Indonesia — a towering figure in the independence struggle, known as the “Father of Cooperatives” for his economic philosophy, and a key architect of the Indonesian nation.

Born in West Sumatra, he was educated in the Netherlands and became a leading figure in the nationalist movement. He was a close ally of Sukarno, and together they proclaimed Indonesian independence on August 17, 1945. Hatta served as Vice President from 1945 to 1956, and was a key figure in the Round Table Conference negotiations with the Dutch.

Hatta’s economic philosophy emphasized the importance of cooperatives and economic self-sufficiency, and his ideas continue to influence Indonesian economic policy. His legacy is one of intellectual leadership, integrity, and a commitment to democracy and social justice.

Mohammad Hatta (1902–1980) adalah Wakil Presiden pertama Indonesia — tokoh penting dalam perjuangan kemerdekaan, dikenal sebagai “Bapak Koperasi” karena filosofi ekonominya, dan arsitek utama bangsa Indonesia.

Lahir di Sumatera Barat, ia dididik di Belanda dan menjadi tokoh terkemuka dalam gerakan nasionalis.
